For dance, positions matter more than words. A formation sheet is a page of small stage diagrams where you record where every dancer stands at each key moment, labeled by count.
This sheet has twelve stage diagrams with wings marked on each side, so you can note which leg dancers enter from. Use initials or numbers for dancers and arrows for travel. It works equally well for choreographers, dance captains and stage managers.
How to use this template
- 1Write the number or section and the date at the top.
- 2Assign each dancer an initial or number.
- 3Draw each formation in a diagram and write the counts underneath.
- 4Use arrows to show travel between formations.
